Instagram Subscriptions at KAR: A New Way for SuperFans to Engage
At KAR Productions, our priority has always been — and will always be — our dance families, studio owners, and the dancers who bring our stages to life. As social platforms evolve, Instagram has introduced new tools that allow brands to better engage with their most passionate followers. One of those tools is Instagram Subscriptions, and we want to clearly explain what it is, who it’s for, and what it is not.
What Is Instagram Subscriptions?
Instagram Subscriptions is a feature created and managed entirely by Instagram. It allows followers to optionally subscribe to a creator’s account to access additional social content and engagement features within Instagram.
This feature is not required and is not connected to:
- Competition registration
- Participation in any KAR event or KAR brand
- Choreography protection
- Judging, scoring, awards, or results
- Customer care, studio communication, or access to KAR staff
Who Is This For?
This feature is designed for SuperFans — dancers, parents, and studios who enjoy engaging more deeply with our social media content and being part of the online KAR community.
It is not intended to replace or interfere with the professional relationship we have with studios. All studios receive the same care, communication, and support regardless of subscription status.
What SuperFans Receive with the KAR Instagram Subscription
Subscribers may receive optional social media perks such as:
- Subscriber Badge A visible badge that appears next to a subscriber’s name when commenting or messaging us on Instagram. This helps their engagement stand out in busy comment threads and DMs.
- Exclusive Social Content Instagram-only content designed for fans who enjoy seeing more of the brand experience.
- Behind-the-Scenes Moments Sneak peeks at life on the road, events, and the people who make KAR happen.
- Ask Me Anything (AMA) Opportunities Occasional Q&A-style interactions hosted within Instagram.
- Early Access or Releases Select early looks at content or announcements when appropriate.
- Classes & Educational Content Instagram-based class-style or informational content created specifically for subscribers.
- Product Reviews & Spotlights Content featuring products or tools relevant to the dance community.
These features live only on Instagram and are purely optional for those who enjoy deeper social engagement.
What This Feature Is
Not
To be very clear:
- You do not need to subscribe to compete with KAR or any KAR brand
- Subscriptions do not impact:
- Studio visibility
- Social media features
- Performance selection
- Customer support response
- All studios, dancers, and families are treated equally — on and off social media
